¿Español? Minecraft? Food? ¿Animales? Magic? Technology? ¡Sí! Practice beginner Spanish in this ongoing survival modded Minecraft: Java Edition class! Our class modpack adds magic, technology, animals, and a lot of food items to Minecraft: Java Edition. This class is for students who have not had any Spanish and would like to learn some Spanish words while playing a modded version of Minecraft: Java Edition. Each week we will learn 5-10 vocabulary words in Spanish and try to obtain and use those items on my private Minecraft server. This class is mostly in English with us using Spanish words for our vocabulary and some phrases and expressions here and there. Parents, after enrolling your learner, please view the Outschool classroom for the installation guide and the modpack. Please make sure your learner has the mods installed and is able to run the game prior to class. If you run into technical issues, please message me ahead of time so that I am able to assist you before class time. I will not be able to assist with installation-related problems during class, because it takes away valuable speaking time from other learners. Technical Requirements -a purchased version of Minecraft: Java Edition (please see the parental guidance section for more information) -the program CurseForge (Please see the parental guidance section for more information) -able to be connected to the game and Zoom at the same time (Some learners can do this on the same computer, some learners may need two devices.) Schedule for January and February Week of January 20th- Los bloques básicos (Basic blocks) Week of January 27th- Las herramientas básicas (Basic tools) Week of Feb 3rd- La comida (Food) Week of Feb 10th- Las menas (Ores) Week of Feb 17th- Los animales (Animals) Week of Feb 24th- La comida (Food) My teaching style is conversational. I usually ask learners about what they are doing inside the game and we sometimes make class decisions about what would be best to do in certain in-game situautions.
