Joy Write! Persuasive Essay: FLEX Class, Age 10-12

Writing is practice, practice, practice!

And Writing should be fun! 

In this 4-Week Flexible-Schedule Class, Students will become stronger writers, while enjoying themselves!

Persuasive Essay: 

Part 1- Students will structure ideas in a logical fashion, creating an introduction paragraph with a thesis and a hook. 
Part 2 - Students will write two body paragraphs, supporting their claim with details and providing transitional sentences. 
Part 3 - Students will write their third body paragraph with a counter claim and rebuttal. 
Part 4 - Students will write their conclusion. 

Students are provided word docs and video recordings of the lessons. Students will have time to spend on their writing & write at their own pace. Students have the option of submitting essays for feedback. Students can share their writing projects, and respond to other students' projects.  Each student will be able to ask questions & receive feedback. 

 Interaction: Students can write a "Working-Together" Story! This game is fun for students to work on in small groups! In the Classroom, students will take turns writing sentences! The collaborative effort is very engaging and promotes creativity by allowing students to draw ideas and inspiration from one another. For those who struggle writing stories on their own, this game is a low-pressure way to get more comfortable with creative story writing!
