In this one-time class, students will learn about globes, maps, and names of the 7 continents.
Class experience
In this class, I will lead students on a journey around plant Earth, and it's continents through the use of globes and maps. Students will learn that Earth is made up of water and land and how to use globes and maps to see where each place on the planet are located. This class will be taught through demonstrations, songs, and coloring. Students will learn the "Tell Me the Continent" song that is sung is many Montessori classrooms. Students will be able to identify the names of the continents and that they live on the planet Earth.
I have been teaching for 20 years. I have my CA teaching credential as well as my Montessori Early Childhood certificate.
2 files available upon enrollmentThere will be 2 files shared with you for student to complete during the class. 1. Has the animals they will encounter on our journey and a paper bracelet they will color to help them remember the names of the continents. 2. A file with a world map (one blank map and one with names printed on them) that can be colored after class. For both pages, you will need something to color with: crayons, colored pencils or markers. Colors needed: orange, pink, green, brown, red and yellow. Kid friendly scissors (to cut our bracelet) You can hold your bracelet together with a piece of tape or a dab of glue. If you are unable to print these handouts before class, your student will still have fun and participate in our activities.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
