Class Experience

The Ancient Egyptians wanted to live forever.  In this class we will learn about the Ancient Egyptians and their belief in an afterlife. Learners will be introduced to the religion, gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt. Using an interactive website learners will each be assigned a god/goddess to research and then share about them with classmates. They will then invent their own god/goddess, including his/her powers and a sketch of the god/goddess.  We will also study the mummification process....

This class is taught in English.

Understand the religion of the Ancient Egyptians and the importance of mummification in their culture.

Certified NJ Middle School Social Studies teacher and Egypt enthusiast!

Paper/Notebook, pen/pencil, eraser, crayons or colored pencils, scissors.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Nearpod

3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Some information regarding the mummification process may be disturbing to sensitive learners. 
Nearpod, a third party resource, will be utilized in class. Students will be given a code to access the presentation, but will not need to log in or provide any information.
