The class is structured as a lecture with key information to discuss as a group as we review it. I encourage students to share their experiences, thoughts and opinions of any information reviewed. I have lived in Japan for close to 2 years. My spouse is Japanese as well as his family who have provided a unique insight into the topics discussed in this class. I also love geography and social studies so I have studied and taught about different countries for 2 years.
Statistics come from the World's Factbook by the CIA (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/japan/) History and cultural information comes from the Encyclopedia Britannica, personal experiences while living in Japan and interviews with Japanese people.
