Class Experience
Do you have a child with a zest for wonder and love of classic literature? If so, this class may be for you! In this 7-week course, we'll be taking a holistic approach to learning and appreciating CS Lewis' classic novel, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Here is a breakdown of what we'll be doing in each week: Week 1: An Introduction to the Novel In this week, we'll set up our class notebook and get an overview of the novel. I have been an English teacher for 14 years, and I've always had an affinity for classic literature that unlocks the reader's imagination. I can't wait to share that joy with your child!
Students will be reading the book at home independently (except for chapter 1) and will be doing light vocabulary/character journaling at home throughout the week. At the end of the course, students will produce a project that demonstrates their knowledge of the book. It can be whatever they like!

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
While there are religious overtones to the novel, no mention of religion will come into our conversations. Caregivers are welcome to share that interpretation with their learner at home if you'd like to explore that angle of the story!
