Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the layers of the Earth (crust, mantle, outer core, inner core) using hands-on activities.
Snack 1: (This makes many servings, so be ready to share with your family) - 8 clear cups (approx 5oz cups) - 1 large vanilla instant pudding mix - 1 small chocolate instant pudding mix - 5 cups milk (or almond milk) - 1 cup mini marshmallows - 10 Oreo cookies - 1 cup shredded coconut (optional) - food coloring (red, green, yellow) - 2 plastic zip baggies - bowls and spoons for mixing Snack 2: This makes one serving - 1 piece of bread - glass cup or circle cookie cutter - milk (a few tablespoons) (or almond milk) - food coloring (green and blue) - clean paintbrush - fun toppings like butter, cinnamon sugar, etc
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
A parent may need to be near to help with mixing and mess cleanup. The second snack requires the toaster, so a parent must help with that part.
