We will take a journey beginning with the underground railroad and end with recent historical events. We will discuss slavery, segregation, black inventors, the underground railroad, and modern-day historical events. This class will be taught with young learners in mind. The class will be taught in segments and learners should be ready to answer questions in a discussion format. Learners will discover, sing, and color their way through Black History. Learners should have a basic understanding of black history. This lesson will be an overview of black history and is a great review course.
Learning Goals
We will begin by briefly exploring the subject of slavery and the underground railroad. Learners will then participate in singing and earn about civil rights leaders who continued to fight for equality. We will then discover black inventors and businesses. After this, we will discover black people who made history. We will end by discussing modern-day black people who have made history.

Parental Guidance
The subject of slavery may be sensitive to some learners. Please be sure to discuss the subject of slavery with your learner prior to class. I will make the subject of slavery age-appropriate. However, due to the sensitive nature of the topic, I will direct learners to ask their parents or guardians any additional questions on the subject of slavery.
