For three weeks, let your child jump into a journey of imagination! This is an exciting new improv class for young minds! During each class we will have Story Drama. All students will be a certain or multiple characters that they will act out. I will be telling a story and giving them directions to act out their character through movement and lines given right away during the story. They will also have a chance to come up with their own characters for Story Drama, it's all improv! There will be a game we play called One-word story, where they each take a turn with one word to add to our story, and can be developed into two-word stories. There will be another game we play called The Quest Finder. In this game, each student will come up with their own character and will be encouraged to pick a different character every class. They will each be given a quest to go and find something in the same room that matches what I ask them to find on their quest. Other creative improvisation games including: Dance for me, What's for Dinner, Gibberish Improv, or the Pirate ship game. Stories we will be acting out: These stories are improvisation by the teacher, the students, or the teacher and the students. For example: In one-word and two-word story we all take turns, and pick one word, or two words as we go along. In Story Drama, it usually starts with: "Once upon a Time" and I improv it as I go along with the students who are there. They will take on the roles as I give them and act it out.
Learning Goals
Students will learn improvisation skills, using their imagination for stories, and teamwork.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Miss Audrey and I love music, dance, and theater! I love to write my own musicals too! I teach all kinds of classes including fairy and mermaid ballet, hip hop dance, musical theater classes and camps, which I have been teaching for 15 years. I have played many roles in musical theater including the ever-dramatic Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street! I have taught in many different theater schools in the Kansas City area and been a part of many productions whether it be performing, choreographing, music directing, or directing. I always encourage imagination with learning and have helped kids choreograph their own dances, write their own stories and scripts, while giving them a blueprint. The basics and fundamentals are key as I guide to weave in imagination and 'play'. After all, isn't that why they call it a PLAY?! In my spare time, I love playing with my cat, making special dream catchers, cooking, writing music, coloring, swimming and being a mermaid, and making moon water and fairy dust!
