Homework
After most classes, the teacher will post a practice sheet so that students are able to practice the skills taught in class. Homework is optional, but learners may submit them and the teacher will grade and return before the next class.Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
In this 25 minute ongoing class, students will be introduced and learn all about the parts of speech, writing conventions, and sentence structure. Classes will include a brief introduction of the topic and guided practice. Students will be encouraged to copy notes down for reference at a later date. Depending on the class, classes will include guided practice, songs, videos, and games. Students will copy class notes and examples. Hello! Nice to meet you! I am Ilene. I love all subjects, but my passion is everything related to Language Arts. I am excited to teach all my students about the wonderful world of the written word. We are going to travel through the pages of a book to learn about the real world and the fantastic world of fictional stories. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Florida International University and I am certified in Elementary Education and hold an Endorsement in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) (K-12). I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have taught Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, STEM, ESOL and even Spanish! Learning is a journey and everyone's path is different, but I believe that meaningful, fun, interactive lessons can empower students to be lifelong learners and readers.
