Nursing school is a unique and challenging journey, and preparation is key! Join our weekly sessions where we dive into essential topics related to nursing education and the profession. Each week, we'll focus on a specific theme, offering insights and practical tips to help you prepare for life as a future nursing student. You'll leave each session with valuable advice from me, a graduate-level nursing student, on how to get a head start on your nursing career path.

January 17: Nursing Math
Do you find math challenging but are passionate about nursing? In this session, we'll break down nursing math and dosage calculations, making it approachable and easy to understand. We’ll work through practice problems together and explore strategies to help anyone become confident and proficient in nursing math. We will end our session with an open forum Q&A for all of your nursing school questions.

January 31: Exploring NICU Nursing
Curious about neonatal nursing? Join us as we dive into the world of NICU care, where I’ll share insights from my own experiences working with newborns in the NICU. If you’re passionate about caring for babies, this session is for you! We’ll wrap up with an open forum Q&A to address all your nursing school questions.

February 14: Understanding Nurse Salaries
What do nurses really earn? In this session, we’ll discuss the realities of nurse compensation, including factors that can affect pay and what you can expect in different nursing roles. We’ll conclude with an open forum Q&A to answer all your nursing school questions.

February 28: Pathways into Nursing
There are many ways to start a career in nursing, and in this session, I’ll share my personal journey and explore the various pathways available: ADN, BSN, MSN, LVN, LPN, RN, and more. March 14: Nursing School Exams & Test-Taking Strategies
Nursing school exams can be challenging, often requiring you to choose the best answer when multiple options seem correct. In this session, we’ll explore effective strategies to prepare for these exams, discuss different question formats, and work through a few practice questions together. We’ll also cover key exams like the TEAS, HESI, and NCLEX-RN, helping you understand what to expect and how to succeed. May 9: Tips for Choosing a Nursing School
Trying to decide which nursing program is right for you? In this session, we’ll explore key factors to consider when choosing between private and public schools, as well as community colleges. I’ll share tips on what to look for in a program, including accreditation, costs and loans, class sizes, and clinical opportunities, so you can make an informed decision that aligns with your goals and budget. We will also discuss hospital incentives, such as tuition reimbursement and loan repayment, and why I recommend working at a hospital while in nursing school. We’ll wrap up with an open forum Q&A to answer all your nursing school questions.
