Welcome to Journaling With Ms. B, Semester Long. In this semester long journaling class, learners will be journaling brainstorming topics, using sentence starters and illustrating. Journaling can be a great way for children to both practice writing and record the thoughts and memories that mean a lot to them. As a class each week we will brainstorm our writing topics that we want to focus our writing on. We will choose our sentence starts and begin writing. The goal for learners in this...
Learners will improve their writing skills, understanding of what a paragraph is, how to be supportive of peers and have fun in their writing.
Homework: Complete brainstorming topic related sentences, complete journal writing and illustrate in their journal. **The following week, learners will have the option to read what they wrote and illustrated before starting a new topic.
Journals can consist of an actual journal to bring to each class or bring a lined piece of paper to class and their favorite item to with. Pencil and colored pencils are encouraged for each class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
