Description

Class Experience

Students will write about a given journal prompt.
Students will explore their thoughts, ideas, and feelings about a given topic.
Students will connect with their own beliefs, ideas and feelings through writing.
Students will share their experiences if they feel inspired to tell the group about their experience.
Students will listen to the experiences of others carefully and respectfully.
Writer's Workshop was always one of my favorite things to teach as a classroom teacher. In my time since then, alongside my training as a life coach, I have developed a practice of journaling that has both supported me in my life, as well as adult clients.
I'm so excited to now be bringing journaling adventures to kids! :)
I believe journaling is one of the most powerful tools for organizing our thoughts and sorting out what feels best to us. It is a release and a relief and is a very healing practice. And I can't wait to share it with your kids. :)
There is no homework for this class. Students are free to continue exploring the given prompts on their own throughout the week! :)
Students may bring a journal or notebook (or loose paper) and something to write with. For classes with extended prompts or instructions, there may be a PDF to download as an option for students to write on to record their thoughts.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students are assessed by participation, and a willingness and ability to spend quiet time writing and reflecting on their own, as well as their ability to share in the group.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
