US Grade 4 - 7
This is a place for fans of the Star Wars universe to come discuss all things Star Wars. Classroom discussions will vary depending on the number of students each week. The conversation might focus on a specific Star Wars character (like Yoda or Poe). We might talk about the aspects of this character: the description, the character's greatest desire, the obstacles in the character's path, how this changes over time and how it affects the character's story line. Or we might just talk about what makes this character cool. Often, students will have different opinions and different favorite characters. We might talk about which character is stronger or braver or discuss who would win in a fight. This is a discussion-style classroom so students are encouraged to share their thoughts and insights each week. Students should have some understanding of the Star Wars universe. (We do talk about a wide range of the Star Wars movies, although I try to keep spoilers to a minimum, when possible.) Types of characters the students can expect to talk about include Rey, R2D2, BB8, Finn, Kylo Ren, Luke, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, etc. This is an ongoing class that will last as long as there is student interest. There is no start or stop date. Outschool charges credit cards on file every Sunday. If you would cancel your subscription before Sunday, you will not be charged for the following week.

Parental Guidance
We will be discussing Star Wars worlds and characters, so our conversation will most likely transfer over into the Star Wars movies. Some of these movies are rated PG-13 (for science fiction violence and action), although I will attempt to keep our conversations age appropriate. External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Spalding University
While earning my Master's Degree in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults, I had endless discussions with my screenplay writer friends about the Star Wars Universe. Star Wars is so complex and ever growing that it seems impossible to know it all! Because the Star Wars galaxy is full of hints and questions, the movies and characters make great conversation! It is also nice to find other people (and potential friends) who share a love for Star Wars, science fiction, and good storytelling.
