In this workshop, students will learn various poses in forearm and elbow stands. We will do a flexibility warmup consisting of back and splits exercises. Then we will work on balance drills and poses like: thinking pose, fang, and split. Students will learn entrances and exits to and from other skills in their repertoire. I am a very hands-on teacher in the face-to-face classroom and strive to teach in the same way online. Students will watch me demonstrate an exercise and then I will watch the students do the exercise. Most exercises will have easier and harder versions to help students of varying level. I give corrections during and after each exercise and name students personally. Recommended Pre-requisites: This class is geared toward students have experience in dance, gymnastics, cheer, or circus. However, this is not a requirement. I recommend that students are somewhat physically active and can hold a 1-minute plank and a back bend before taking this class. If you’re unsure if this class is right for your child, please reach out.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their balance in a basic forearm stand. They will add variations to this skill based on their level. They will learn safe and creative entrances and exits to the balance.

Parental Guidance
Parents should be aware that all acrobatic skills include some risk. The most common risks in this class are falls/tumbles out of the position and muscle strain. I recommend that students have an adequate space to work in, clear from clutter, and that they can hold a one minute plank and a back bend, before attempting this class.
