Class Experience
Join the Band and play music with other awesome musicians! Over the last few years, professional musicians have learned how to write, play and record music together at a distance. In this class we will learn how to do just that! In Join the Band we will learn about songwriting, composing, playing and recording. Each class will start with an introduction to a new musician or music style (one week it might be Queen, the next it might be Ravi Shankar or Beyonce), after that we will work on our...
Students will learn how to work together to write, play and record their own music.
I have been working as a professional musician and writer for the past 10 years and I graduated with a BFA in music composition and performance.
There is no required homework as this is a club but each week I will give students an artist and a song to listen to and there will be some optional assignments along the way.
For this class learners will need: an instrument that they play and a devise that has a microphone and a can connect to the internet for recording purposes. In this class we will be using the website/app BandLab to record music together in real time. BandLab is a completely free site however it does require the learner to create an account.
