In this one-time class, students will play a fun game of Jeopardy and practice their spelling skills at the same time. Students will choose from several categories such as, "pick the correct word", "make it plural", and "what am I?" all centering around spelling. Students will compete against one another to see who can get the most points. This class is designed to be a fun-filled time of learning for students who like a little competition. Students will get to improve their spelling and vocabulary skills as they compete against one another to show off their knowledge! Learners will also get the chance to correct one another and help with giving hints.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their spelling skills as well as knowledge on how to play a simple game of Jeopardy.

A little bit about me:
I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and journalism at Eastern Illinois University in 2013. I have been working as an online ESL teacher for the past two years and also have about seven years experience working in a traditional classroom setting from preschool all the way up through high school.
My passion is teaching and encouraging kids to love reading! My style of teaching is very patient, laid-back and calm. I feel this gives my students a sense of security and they feel safe to learn (and make mistakes) in my classroom.
When I'm not teaching, I'm usually spending time with my husband and young son, exploring our home state of Idaho, or reading a book (of course!).
