30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This one time 30 minute class is intended for students between the ages of 4 and 8 years of age who can't get enough of our giggly wiggly ocean friends, the jellyfish. Students will learn about the jellyfish's life cycle, their natural habitat, their eating habits, their natural predators and how they defend themselves. The class is structured so that each learner can view short videos and ask questions and discuss fun facts afterwards. I will teach by having a fun discussion, asking questions about the videos, showing a detailed review Power Point presentation and allowing students time to draw a colorful jellyfish at the end of class. My teaching style has proven effective with visual, auditory, social/interpersonal and logical learners as I incorporate seeing, listening, class discussion and hands-on (drawing) activities. This class is packed with plenty of facts for those learners whose preference is logical learning. Learners do not need any previous knowledge about jellyfish to benefit and have fun in this class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have always been curious and keenly interested in animals. As a high school student, I volunteered at my local Rescue Shelter. Personally seeing the soothing effects that trained animals can have on children suffering with different illness made me even more passionate about animals. As a nature enthusiast, I have travelled to several endangered animal sanctuaries in the US, as well as, in various Latin American countries. In 2019 I organized a school field trip to The Long Island Aquarium with my fist grade class. There, I saw my students faces light up as they learned about aquatic life forms, jellyfish in particular. I enjoy learning and teaching about jellyfish to students in my home state of New Jersey where I currently teach virtually about weird and interesting animals.
