1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this fun painting class, students will be instructed on how to trace a basic outline, using one of the provided templates, and then paint it in with acrylic paints. Since astrodroids tend to be a somewhat similar design, you can choose to paint the traditional "Artoo" or BB-8, or paint it in a different color scheme and design your own droid! At the beginning of class, we will prepare by selecting the template (printed in advance) and tracing it with pencil. I will demonstrate how to transfer the design onto the canvas, and then discuss our plans for coloring in the background and droid. You may choose to do a galaxy background like me, a solid color, etc. As we paint our subjects, students will be learning several art techniques, including: - color theory and mixing - perspective, proportion and design - frottage (stippling and creating texture) and controlled splatter painting (paint dilution) My art classes encourage personal expression and interpretation. There is no wrong way to paint your panel, and my classes are always upbeat and positive. Bring your strongest Jedi thoughts (or Sith - if you dare!) to class and create something epic!
