Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This Jazz class is great for new dancers to practice the fundamentals of jazz such as basic walks, kicks, turns, and jumps. Once you are strong in these essentials you can build on your skills. We will take these moves and put them to choreography each week so you can sharpen your mind as well as strengthen your body. Each class begins with warm up, then we will take time to work on our technical move. We will finish class by incorporating what we learn into a short routine. Dancers will receive verbal feedback from me throughout all sections of class with opportunities to pause for specific questions and needs from each student. My goal is to have every dancer know that I am committed to helping them succeed and for them to feel my enthusiasm for their efforts and achievements!

Week 1 (03/04/2024) Fundamentals of jazz. Dancers will work on finding their personal style in walks and stylized movement.
Week 2 (03/11/2024) Balance. Dancers work on different moves that challenge their balance and prepare them for turns.
Week 3 (03/18/24) Strength and flexibility. Dancers focus on stretching and strengthening their muscles while increasing flexibility for moves such as kicks, leaps, balancing with legs in extended positions.
Week 4 (03/25/24) Leaps and turns.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I’m Alli!
I teach young dancers in jazz, ballet, and lyrical. My classes are for young children that love to move their bodies with music and find joy in movement as well as young dancers that want more focus on technique and choreography. Dance and fitness have been part of my life since I was very young. Starting out as a young dancer I grew up performing and competing. After high school, I taught and assisted with dance classes throughout college and continue to teach young dancers in different styles. I was classically trained in ballet and then fell in love with the freedom of movement in more contemporary styles when I was a young teen. I have found a new love for barre fitness and have been a certified teacher for four years. I love the way barre calls upon the strength and activation of the same muscles we are used to using in dance
I want my students to find joy in my classes and gratitude for their bodies.
