Jazz Dance is a fun and upbeat dance class guaranteed to make you feel confident learning fundamental jazz movements. Jazz steps include basic turns, including chaines, piques, pirouettes, jazz turns, and some ballet turns, to name a few.

Class Experience

Students primary learning method will consist of retaining choreography and proper body exercises given by the instructor. This will be a live web based class course, so should students have any questions during the course, we would open embrace those questions as a classroom so that we all can gain beneficial information from one another.

 Class time will be structured as follows:

- Opening - Roll Call, Attendance (5 minutes)
- Warm-up/Stretch (10 minutes)
- Short Water/Restroom Break (1-2 minutes)
- Class Topic Discuss/Activity (10 minutes)
- Choreography (15-20 minutes)
- Class Activity (10 minutes)
- Class Review/Additional Questions (5 minutes)
- End of Class

The discipline of dance requires concentration, rhythmic, dynamic, and spatial awareness and an ability to comprehend, retain, and apply movement principles and practices.

 Weekly class topics and choreography will be contingent upon song choices provided by students or instructor. Each week isn’t theme specific.

Students will be prepared to learn weekly dance routines, and should be dressed comfortably for class. Students should also be willing to practice proper and safe movement to reduce potential injuries.
Learning Goals
At the successful completion of the course the students will demonstrate a more in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of jazz techniques and freedom of expression such as: 

- Awareness of total body movement and body isolations; weight shifts; spatial and dynamic contrasts; and relationship to music. 
- An ability to comprehend intermediate rhythmic skills characteristic of dance such as syncopation, dynamic variation, and vocalization of movement.

Parental Guidance

Supply List
Students are encouraged to have the following:

- Proper dance/athletic attire e.g. leggings, sweatpants, tshirt, Jazz shoes, sneakers, knee pads, etc.
- Willingness to achieve, perform, and take risks in technical and improvisational aspects

Students should be willing to practicing proper and safe movement to reduce potential injuries.

I truly believe health and wellness is an important aspect to incorporate in our lives, and it's imperative that students understand this importance so that they are able to develop and master these habits in advance. Unfortunately I didn't have these resources growing up as a child. Since I began teaching students, It has been one of my main objectives to provide proper tools and knowledge that can be used throughout any area of life in a way that's natural to me, and one that I'm very passionate about in my life.
