🌟 JavaScript / p5.js Computer Science Coding Club: Games, Animations, and More 🌟 🎮 In this fun weekly coding club, your learner will create games, animations, and interactive projects using JavaScript and p5.js! They'll develop coding fundamentals like loops, conditionals, and debugging, while exploring their creativity 🎨. Each week, coding topics will include: 🔄 Sequencing, loops, and conditionals 🎛️ Variables and debugging 🎮 Game design, animations, and more! 💡 The small class size (max 6 learners) ensures plenty of interaction and support! We’ll build projects step by step, with personalized guidance and real-time answers to questions 🚀. 📚 Class Structure: We’ll start with a brief intro to the day’s topic 🎤, then dive into coding as a group 🛠️. I’ll introduce key concepts and guide learners as they bring their own unique projects to life. We’ll wrap up each session with a student showcase and Q&A 💬. 🎨 Themes: September 30th- October 27th: Puzzles October 28th-November 24th: World Travel November 25th-December 22nd: Obstacle course December 23rd-January 19th: Extreme sports 🕹️ Game Design 🎨 Creative Animations 🚀 Interactive Art Projects ✨ Note for Parents: Your learner will need: A free p5.js account at editor.p5js.org 🌐 A laptop or desktop with Zoom & screen sharing 🎥 Internet speed of 3mbps+ 🌍 Working mic, speaker, and webcam 🎤💻 ℹ️ Please have an adult available for the first 5 minutes to assist with setup.
Learning Goals
After completing these classes, students will confidently code with JavaScript and p5.js. They'll grasp foundational concepts like loops, variables, conditionals, and debugging, while developing strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.

Parental Guidance
Students will use p5.js to participate in class. Students must access their own p5.js account using a laptop or a computer in class (no smartphone or tablets). Students will use their own account to code while following instructions from the teacher.
Supply List
🛠️ Learner Supply List Your student will need: A free p5.js account. Visit p5.js editor to create one! Access to a laptop or desktop computer with Zoom installed and screen-sharing enabled. An internet connection of 3mbps+ for a smooth experience. A working speaker, microphone, and webcam. All Windows and Mac operating systems from the past five years are supported! 📱 Note: iPads are not recommended, but feel free to reach out if you have any questions! 💡 Reminder: Please ensure an adult is available for the first 5 minutes of class to help with setup and troubleshooting.

At Coco Coders we teach children between the age of 6-14 how to code at our Live Online Clubs and Camps through exciting themed content such as architecture, fashion and conservation to name a few. Depending on age, we teach using a variety of programs and languages including Scratch, JavaScript and CoSpaces.
Coco Coders has been teaching children how to code since 2016 at in-person and live online clubs and camps. We have amazing teachers on-board who are super passionate in helping your child get future ready!
We don't believe in creating a world of little computing scientists but we created a curriculum that allows our students to gain an understanding of computational thinking concepts for whatever career they choose to go into in the future!
