In this 60 minute class students will create their own Avatar builder using Javascript in p5.js.
Class experience
In this 60 minute class students will think like a designer to create project in p5.js. Students will learn about variables, functions, coordinates, arrays and more. The class will be highly interactive since we cap our classes at 3 students. The teacher will work with students to create a project they can be proud of while answering questions and providing support along the way. After completing this class, students will be comfortable coding and creating a project with p5.js. Even more importantly, they will have gained an understanding of foundational coding concepts including variables, functions, coordinates and arrays. At Coco Coders, our goal is to help students become future-ready, and we know that these core skills will serve our students for the rest of their lives.
Your student will need: - A p5.js account. Visit hhttps://editor.p5js.org/ to create a free account. - Access to a laptop or desktop computer with Zoom installed and screen-sharing enabled - An internet connection of 3mbs+ - A working speaker, microphone and webcam - all Windows and Mac operating systems of the past five years are supported Note: iPads are not compatible with this class Please make sure an adult is on hand for the first five minutes of class to help set-up and tackle troubleshooting.

Students will use p5.js to participate in class. Students must access their own p5.js account using a laptop or a computer in class (no smartphone or tablets). Students will use their own account to code while following instructions from the teacher.
