---------------------------------- Welcome to the Java Weekly class ---------------------------------- In each session we go over a topic and then code some examples together. Learners can ask questions and discuss their code any time during the class. We go at a medium pace usually. At the end of the session the relevant slides and code are posted to the classroom, along with the weekly homework. Recordings for the sessions are also available to enrolled learners if they'd like to revisit something. ----------------------------- NOTE for Bhavana: This used to be done as a fixed number of weeks class. It has now been modified to a week by week class so learners can learn more topics based on their interests. Numerous learners have studied Java with me but those numbers are only visible on the previous classes. This is new class so you won't see those. Feel free to see reviews on my profile. Thanks! ----------------------------- Topics covered --------------------------- * Hello World, Primitive data types: int, double, char, boolean, casting * String variables, String operations * Methods, arguments and return types, loops * Basic Algorithms: traverse single array, traverse two arrays * Classes and objects * Class Inheritance * Error checks, types of exceptions, exception handling, finally and final * Abstract classes and interfaces, use of super keyword * Java enums, constants, object equality * Access modifiers: public private protected * Lot of algorithms to solve easy and medium level problems * Medium level algorithms: reverse a string, nested loops, odd and even number sums, multi dimensional arrays * Practice practice and more practice And much more -------------------------------------- What if you cannot attend all sessions -------------------------------------- It is highly recommended to watch the recording for that week and do the homework. Recordings are available to all learners enrolled for the week. -------------------------------------- Help the class be successful by spreading the word to friends. If you prefer a 1:1 class instead, please let me know and I can send you a private section if I have availability. 1:1s cost higher - around a dollar a minute (cost as of March 2025). --------------------------------------
