Description

Class Experience

English Language Arts skills: Analyzing; Listening; Speaking; Summarizing; Reading; Writing
Please note, the suggested books contain characters who face varying degrees of bullying, discrimination, hardship, and oppression. The weekly discussions will "center" the actions, experiences, feelings, etc. of the characters who unjustly face the bullying, discrimination, oppression, and/or racism. As I guide these discussions with students, I will use my experience as a restorative practices facilitator and a racial justice/antiracism advocate.

Ultimately, we will focus on the lived experiences of the characters in order to better understand history.
