Class Experience

Students will learn to use specific brush techniques to paint branches, cherry blossoms, and bamboo plants.
Students will arrange elements of their painting to create a Japanese style of visual balance.
Tempera (poster paint) OR acrylic paint - three colors only: black, white, magenta
(watercolor or gouache paint could work if there is a white)
paper plate or piece of foil to squirt paint on
1 or 2 small/medium soft, round or pointed paint brushes (see video on this listing)
cup or jar of water to rinse the brush
Several sheets of paper to paint on- I use white construction paper.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
