Have you ever wondered what classes are out there to help you become fluent in Japanese? I know I have. Well, I have designed this five-part beginner class (and more classes to come) to help you on your journey to becoming fluent. This class will not only help you learn grammar and vocabulary efficiently and effectively but will also help you learn about the culture and the people as well. I will put you in real-life situations where you will be encouraged to use Japanese to successfully communicate with others. After this lesson, students will be able to 1. Learn the Kanji for (day, book, person, moon, fire, water and tree -They will learn that combining them can make other words as well (ex. day and book make Japan, fire and day make Tuesday) 2. Learn how to describe the days of the week, time words -Monday, Tuesday and Months etc 3. Learn about different Japanese Expressions (like what and where?) Week 2: 1. gold, soil, and weekday, up, down, middle, and half -(gold and day make Friday, soil and day make Saturday) 2. Learn about adjectives -Learn about i-adjectives -Learn about Na-adjectives -Learn where to place the adjectives in a sentence Week 3: 1. Modifying nouns with adjectives -where to add adjectives when it comes to nouns 2. Learn about likes and dislikes -Learn to describe what you like and dislike -have nouns to describe it. Week 4: 1. Learn about inviting people -to events and activities 2. Learn about Japanese counters -for each object there are different counters: flat objects, long objects etc. Week 5: Learn how to read and write the Kanji for Mountain, River, Origin, Spirit, Heaven, Now and Rice Field -Real-life instances on reading and each kanji will be broken down and each kanji will be combined to make other words as well. You will definitely enjoy this class. We will play games, have PowerPoint slides, group discussion and real life situations to solidify what to say in certain situations. I want you to feel comfortable and engaged while learning. There is a pre-requisite. You will either need to know how to read, write and speak Hiragana and Katakana before this class or take Hiragana and Katakana classes simultaneously. You will also need to have taken Road to Fluency Beginner Class 1, 2 and 3 or know all the material in this class. Please bring an open mind and be ready to learn.
Learning Goals
Week 1:
