Class Experience

Have you ever wondered what classes are out there to help you become fluent in Japanese? I know I have. Well, I have designed this five-part beginner class (and more classes to come) to help you on your journey to become fluent. This class will not only help you learn grammar and vocabulary efficiently and effectively, but will also help you learn about the culture and the people as well.

I will put you in real-life situations where you will be encouraged to use Japanese to successfully communicate with others.

After this lesson, students will be able to

1. Say greetings (morning, afternoon and night)
2. Say goodbye (Did you know there are different goodbyes for different age groups?)
3. Say goodnight (There are different goodnights for different age groups.)
4. Say thank you and you are welcome (There is a different thank you for different age groups.)
5. Say I'm sorry or get someone's attention (The same word has two meanings.)
6. Know what to do and say when they leave their house and when they return
7. Know what to say before they eat and after they eat
8. Address someone when they are older, younger or a teacher
9. Introduce themselves to people they meet for the first time

I know this sounds like a lot, but I can promise you it will all be done in the class meeting.

You will definitely enjoy this class. We will play games like kahoot, have PowerPoint slides, group discussion and real life situations to solidify what to say in certain situations. I want you to feel comfortable and engaged while learning.

There is a pre-requisite. You will need to know how to read, write and speak Hiragana and Katakana before this class. (Hiragana and Katakana are the Japanese Alphabets).

Please bring an open mind and be ready to learn.
