This class is for beginners. This course will take place as four 45 minutes classes. Week 1: Phrases around food I will ask the students if they know any names for Japanese food. We will learn what to say before eating, during eating, and after eating. We will learn how to describe various tastes, such as salty, sour, sweet, spicy, and so on. Students are encouraged to use these phrases at home to remember! Week 2: Making friends First, we will learn basic greeting phrases. Then, we will discuss how to make friends when your language knowledge is not enough to communicate. If we succeed in coming up with a good idea, I will tell you how to say the phrases that you want to say in Japanese. I will also share my idea for making friends in different cultures, and teach you some phrases that are useful. Week 3: Asking directions When you want to ask people how to get to your destination, you need to know Japanese words for "right", "left", and "straight". Also, when you ask people to do a favour for you, it is always nice to use polite languages. We will learn how to ask politely. However, if you are talking to your friends, there are more friendly phrases that you can use. Week 4: Useful phrases for travelling. There are basic questions that you will be asked when you are travelling. "Where are you from?" is one of them. We will learn how to say your country names in Japanese. What other phrases do you need to know before your trip to Japan? Let's discuss what kind of phrases may be useful in travelling.

Hello!
I teach Japanese at Outschool.
Japanese spoken in the country differs slightly depending on the region. I teach with the one spoken in the Greater Tokyo area.
I have classes for different levels:
PreA1 (Total Beginners)
A1-1 (for beginners with some knowledge of Japanese words or phrases)
A1-2 (for beginners who can write and read sentences with hiragana and katakana)
A2 (for elementary-level learners who can speak simple phrases comfortably)
B1 (for intermediate-level learners who can exchange opinions in Japanese)
To give you a rough idea of your levels:
CEFR JLPT
A1 - A2 = N5
A2 = N4
B1 = N3
*CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
*JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test offered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchange and Services)
I have experience teaching children, college students, and adults in different classroom settings.
Learning new languages widens our perspectives. My classes will help you make new friends and find something interesting in Japan.
Along with studying the language, we will learn several aspects of Japanese culture. I prefer my classes to be interactive, and I welcome various questions from learners.
I am looking forward to meeting you in my classes!
