This 4-week course will build on the Japanese skills learned in Part I with new phrases and vocabulary. We will also incorporate more fun facts about Japanese culture. Here are the topics to be covered each week: Week 1: Mealtime Manners Week 2: Daily Life: At Home Week 3: Daily Life: At School Week 4: Daily Life: Shopping When learning a language, even more important than hearing a word is using it! We will practice basic words and phrases by both listening to and using them. As a flex course, we will not meet live in person. Instead, I will post weekly lesson videos and ask each student to submit a video project using the language learned that week. We will follow the same class structure used Part I. Each week, students will: 1) Watch lesson video (participate in repeat-after-me exercises) 2) Complete review quiz/game of choice (via Quizlet; link will be provided) 3) Record video project (detailed instructions will be provided each week) 4) Participate in discussion board (we'll discuss one aspect of Japanese culture together each week) I will post a weekly announcement with detailed instructions for the week's activities. Students will interact with each other by responding to video projects and participating in the discussion boards. I will also interact with students by giving feedback on each video project and by facilitating discussions/answering questions on the discussion board.
