What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursClass Experience
During this single session, 1 hour class, students will create a drawing of a luminous goldfish, swimming against a patterned backdrop. This fish drawing is inspired a painting created by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Students will learn about organic shapes as they follow along with the instructor's guided drawing of the fish before creating a patterned background which is characteristic of Kusama's work. The instructor will demonstrate how to build up color layers using color pencils as well as how to use a "scumbling" technique to create the texture of the fish scales in the drawing.
