Class Experience

In this beginners class, students will learn the Japanese names for ten different animals. Students will draw pictures of each animal and write its Japanese name. I will use visual aids such as animal magnets, puppets and stuffed animals. I will often test learners memory throughout the class with mini quizzes. Learners have a blast shouting out the Japanese names of animals as I hold up animal props at random. I will also say the Japanese names while learners shout the English names. We will practice proper pronunciation with repetition and use funny voices. After class, I will share a team Kahoot quiz link where learners can complete for a top spot on the leaderboard while mastering the animal names! They are able to take the quiz many times as they like. No account or personal information is necessary in order to play the team Kahoot quiz.

We will learn:
1 - Cat
2 - Dog
3 - Seal
4 - Alligator
5 - Elephant
6 - Lion
7 - Bear
8 - Horse
9 - Cow
10 - Bunny Rabbit

I have been taking weekly Japanese language classes for the past four years. All of my classes are basic Japanese skills for beginners. I enjoy the language and learning about Japanese culture. My three children have also been taking Japanese classes for the past four years. We often play memory games and practice speaking with each other in Japanese. I am not a native speaker and have an Eastern American accent.
