In this class we will learn about Jane Goodall's study of the chimpanzees in Tanzania and we will also look at other intelligent animal species such as the Octopus, Crow, Pigeon, Dolphin and more through different themes of intelligence. These themes of intelligence may be the ability to have a language, to think and plan ahead, to form complicated social structures and families, to have a detailed memory and to have a sense of fun or play in their lives. 10 mins: Interactive games such as 'Heads Up!', 'Name Game', 'Wordsearch', 'Boggle' or 'Guess the Animal' 15 mins: Reading and discussing a picture book about Jane Goodall called 'The Watcher' 15 mins: Slides presentation on animal intelligence

My name is Maya and I graduated from the University of Oxford with a geography degree in 2013. Since then I have worked in the humanitarian sector for the British Red Cross and worked as a private tutor around the world. I am grateful that I can share my academic interests on Outschool and meet curious learners from around the world. I offer a variety of classes on geography, history, literature, art history, philosophy, classical civilisation and yoga. My classes are interactive and discussion based and all types of learners are welcome to come and participate. When I am not teaching, I am an avid gardener, nature lover, tennis player and chess enthusiast.
