Description

Class Experience

Identify elements which make screen adaptations successful in producing a beloved story.
Discuss effects of production choices on reinterpreting a text
Jane Austen has been one of my favorite authors for most of my life. I think I've seen every screen adaptation multiple times and even seen a few stage productions as well. My M.A. focus area includes Jane Austen's work, specifically Mansfield Park, and I've adapted Sense & Sensibility for stage performance.
Students should be familiar with a screen adaptation of the novel up for discussion.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
