US Grade 2 - 5
Together we will read the exciting book James and the Giant Peach. A syllabus will be posted to let you know what chapters we will be discussing each week. Together we form our own book club to talk about each chapter, answer comprehension questions, and review vocabulary words used in the book. I added some fun activities for each session. Class #1 – Introduction and discuss Ch. 1 - 5 with chapter-related activities. Class #2 – Discuss Ch. 6 - 18 with chapter-related activities. Class #3 – Discuss Ch. 19 - 30 and chapter-related activities. Class #4 - Discuss Ch. 31 - 39 with chapter-related activities. End of the book reviews. Please have your child read the chapters before each class to participate in the discussion and activities.
Learning Goals
The goal is to improve reading comprehension and discuss the events from the book. Together as a group, we will talk about the adventures that James has in the peach and the friends he makes along the way. I will highlight vocabulary and creating a written book review.

Supply List
Supplies needed for class: A copy of the book James and The Giant Peach. Paper Pencil Crayons or Markers I will provide vocabulary words and questions about each chapter. I also provide fun activities for chapters read. The student needs to read the chapters assigned to be able to participate in group discussions.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
