In this class, students will learn about the artist Jackson Pollock and create a piece of art in his abstract style of dripping paint. The abstract art movement of the 20th century, led in part by Pollock, encouraged artists to create outside of the box and give meaning to an art piece with no order or distinguished features. Students will follow along with the teacher step-by-step and are encouraged to interact with the class and ask questions.
In this class students will learn about the artist Jackson Pollock and create an art piece in his style.
Acrylic or Tempera paint in 5-6 different colors (your choice) Canvas or piece of wood or cardboard Water Six cups to mix paint and water Six spoons Table covering Old toothbrush Salt (optional)
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Younger students may need additional assistance.
