Pull up a seat and join me for Circle Time! Each day your child will participate in a virtual Preschool Circle Time. We will practice skills like: General Skills: - Greetings - Days of the Week and Months of the Year - Patterns - Color, Number and Letter Recognition - Counting from 0 to 10 and from 10 to 0 - Name Recognition (recognizing the spelling of your own name and your classmates' names) - Listening, Speaking and Turn-Taking - Using Graphic Organizers to Sort Information Theme-Specific Skills - Types of Transportation - City vs. Country This will be an interactive class. We will learn through singing, listening, and playing games. I will use a puppet and props as well as digital images to make the learning come alive. I will provide an at home activity or craft idea each day. This will be an optional project or activity that parents can complete. Children will be encouraged to bring an item to "show" during each class. These items will be listed in the classroom. These are not required. For example, your child may be encouraged to bring "something orange" to circle time.

I am Teacher Joy, and I can't wait to meet you! I have been working with children of all ages for many years. I spent 15 years as a teacher and administrator in a private K-12 school in America. I have taught classes from Grade 1 to Grade 12! I have also spent 3 years teaching English as a second language online to students ages 5 to 13. I realized that I love connecting with students from around the globe through the use of technology!
I teach a variety of classes. I love to use interactive experiences to help students discover the patterns that guide the way we read, write, and even solve math problems. I believe that a deep understanding of a topic leads to the ability to practice, and later master, the skills that are being taught. I absolutely love to teach reading comprehension and writing skills!
In my classroom your child will be met at her/his level and supported as s/he moves to the next level. My teaching style is welcoming, engaging, and positive. I modify my expectations and approach to meet the needs and levels of my students.
