The animal world is full of amazing transformations! Students will experience these transformations first hand through this life cycle study. In this three day Spring Break Camp, students will learn about the life cycle of the butterfly, frog and flower through literature, short videos and will complete a hands-on project for each of the life cycles. Day 1: Butterfly Life Cycle: Hands-on activity - create a butterfly life cycle hat Day 2: Frog Life Cycle: Hands-on activity - create a paper plate frog life cycle Day 3: Flower/Plant Life Cycle: Hands-on activity - cut and paste the life cycle of the flower/plant and create the parts of the plant (and label). I will share the handouts for this class when you join our class. Come and learn about our amazing world!
Learning Goals
Students will understand that all living things grow, develop and change over time.
Students will understand the life cycles of the frog, butterfly and plant.
Be able to share the stages of each living thing with family.

Supply List
Students will need scissors, glue and the handouts for these projects. **If you do not have these supplies, your student can still participate and complete the handout and learn about the life cycles.** Butterfly life cycle hat: Strip of green construction paper (enough to wrap around students head) Can use a 12x18 or 9x12 paper cut into 3-4 inch strip(s). If you do not have green you can use any color you have for the hat. Staple the hat together when done. Frog paper plate life cycle: one paper plate, scissors, glue and handout. Flower/Plant life cycle: hand-out to cut and glue life cycle. Parts of the flower/plant: one piece of blue construction paper 9x12, one white cupcake/muffin liner (can use coffee filter but will need to cut), green and brown construction paper.

I have been a teacher for over 20 years. I have working in public, private and charter schools. I've worked with homeschooling families and I also homeschooled my own children. I hold a CA Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and my Montessori Early Childhood Certificate. I am also about to complete my Master degree in Creative Writing.
I am still a curious learner and love to pass that curiosity along to my students. I love to guide students through the process of reading (phonics to blending sounds into words!) numbers, and math concepts. I am passionate about guiding students to wonder about the world around us and discovering new things through science and cultural studies.
My classes guide student to become independent learners and to be curious about the world around them.
