US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this one-time class, we will read the fall story, "It's Pumpkin Time!" by Zoe Hall. We will talk about Halloween, Jack o'lanterns, and learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin. Next, we will make our very own paper plate pumpkin with the life cycle on the vine of the pumpkin. Students will color and cut out the leaves of the vine which each have a picture and the name of each stage of a pumpkin's life cycle.
Learning Goals
Student will be able to identify the order of a pumpkins life cycle from seed to pumpkin.

Supply List
*PDF *2 green pipe cleaners for the pumpkin vine paper plate painted or colored orange on the bottom (or a large paper circle - can be cut to *shape of a pumpkin prior to class) *glue stick *tape (to attach stem) *scraps of green and brown construction paper (leaf and stem of pumpkin) *scissors
