Students will learn reading skills, listening skills, art skills. They will be creating their own Halloween paper pumpkin and a color-by-numbers worksheet with a PDF printable, please print out for class. Students will listen to me read them a book called It's Pumpkin Day, Mouse! Written by Laura Numeroff. Halloween might look a little different for us this year. I want to offer this class so our little ones that get so excited to show off their costumes have the chance to show them off, have fun and enjoy a Halloween party with peers! Students will be able to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume (MUST not show violence, blood, gore, or anything else non-age appropriate) Children are encouraged to dress up in their not so scary Halloween costumes. I must be able to see Childs's face. We will go around and introduce ourselves to show and tell about our costumes. Children will have a chance to talk through class for social skills. I have a PDF printable that can be downloaded and print before class. Additionally, due to Outschool policy, students must identify themselves on camera at least once at the beginning of class. I will share the pictures from the book then I will show the children how to complete the craft project step by step. Students are encouraged to talk during art time and interact with each other for social skills. No background knowledge is required as I will be reading the story. Some parent assistance may be needed during craft time for younger learners. Progress is evaluated by their level of excitement for the story and craft!! Students are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal or favorite toy to class for a short show and tell. Most of all let's have some FUN!
Learning Goals
Students will learn listening skills, coloring with crayons or markers, using their imagination while creating their Halloween pumpkin. Using their fine motor and social skills.
