Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Your child will learn tricks or illusions and their science in this class. They will also learn some presentation tips to help wow their audience. 

#1 Magic Rolling Can and Living Paper - Static Electricity 
#2 Table Cloth Trick (Age Appropriate) - Newton's First Law (Inertia)
#3 Leak Proof Bag - Polymers 
#4 Vanishing Rainbow - Additive Color Mixing
#5 Unmixable Water - Density
#6 Self-Inflating Balloon - Chemical Reaction & Gas Production

We will do all the tricks together in class, except for Unmixable Water. Unmixable Water will be demoed and explained. Parents can decide if they want their students to complete the trick at home.

Supply List
One-page hand-out with each trick, directions, materials, and guiding scientific principle. 

Shopping List
2 balloons (a parent should inflate ONE balloon before class)
1 dry aluminum can
1 tissue
1 tablecloth or placemat or small towel
1 large bowl 
1 ziplock bag (fill 1/2 with water)
Some sharpened pencils
1 paper plate or 8-10 inch circle of card stock
markers or crayons or colored pencils for coloring
1 20 oz bottle or something similar with a smaller opening
1/2 cup of vinegar or about 100 mL
2 tablespoons of baking soda or about 30 grams
1 funnel 
1 spoon

Optional
rubber band
 1 file available upon enrollment
