30 mins in-class hoursHomework
There will not be homework, but a printable PDF practice sheet is provided for students to keep practicing after class.Class Experience
Students will first be taught a technique to achieve a smooth coat of polish and will learn a few basic nail terminology words. Students will then use household items (toothpick, Qtip) or a dotting tool to add design to their nails. This class is a very beginner friendly introduction to nail design. The goal of the class is to have fun while being creative and learning a few design techniques. Students will be encouraged to make the nail art their own and enjoy the process more than focusing on the end result, although by the end of class they will hopefully love their fun, holiday inspired nails!
Learning Goals
Students will learn a basic technique to create a smooth coat of polish and a basic design technique to create holiday themed nails.

Parental Guidance
Because of the possibly messy nature of nail polish, it is recommended for an adult to be somewhat near especially with students that don't have a lot of experience painting nails. Please also be aware of any allergic reactions to any nail polish ingredients before using the polish. Per Outschool policy, parents will need to stay off camera.
Supply List
*1-5 different colors of polish for the base coat (students can use one color on all their nails or 5 different colors like I used in the example to create a "rainbow" effect.) *1 color of polish to make the "pot of gold" (I used a medium gray color.) *A topcoat with thick glitter OR gold/yellow polish OR a clear top coat mixed with gold glitter to make the "gold" in the pot of gold. *A toothpick (or small dotting tool) *A Qtip (or medium-large dotting tool) *Something to protect work surface (even a paper towel works great) *A baby wipe or paper towel for clean up *Attached printed PDF practice worksheet (optional)
