When it comes to food, some like it "hot" and "spicy"......and others like it "sweet".....Refined or Natural? It's up to YOU..... to choose what you will "eat" and "feed" your body with after you "Read The Label"!

Class experience

Helpful Suggetion List:
Sugar Facts: advisory for children is 25 grams or less per day (or - 6 tsp) and Daily Value
Major sources of refined sugar(Processed, refined, packaged foods, bread, sodas, energy drinks, etc.)
A "rule of thumb": - Eat what naturally occurs in foods, - measure how much you eat from refined sugar foods, and use only enough to satisfy "Trained Taste Buds"!
Natural: That which occurs naturally in foods, includes various vitamins and minerals (fructose).
Refined: Processed, lacks or diminished nutritional value, but does affect the activity level of the body.
As a former teacher, I have first-hand experience with food trends in the classroom, and encouraged my students in making healthy choices. I am also a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, as a Health Coach. I desire to influence transformation of the lives of the youth of our society with healthy live-style choices. A national technology organization stated findings that 'added sugars supply food energy but no other nutrients' and I believe this knowledge unaddressed is a contributor to childhood obesity and other early onset dis-ease.
My goal for students in my Outschool classes is to heighten student awareness of foods that are good for them, give them the tools to assist their evaluation of foods, and choice to select what might be eaten for limited occurrences, like special occasions or events, with understanding. When given a choice, my goal (my aim or desired result) is to "hopefully" influence their choice "in favor of" the overall health of their body. and it's long term performance and health at least 80% of the time!
