This class teaches strategies for solving 3rd grade level word problems using addition and subtraction.
Class experience
This class is presented via a PowerPoint slideshow accompanied by teacher explanation. It gives step by step strategies for solving word problems featuring addition, subtraction, or both to find the answers. Cue words are identified to help the student know which math operation is necessary for solving the problem. UPDATE: Each finished problem adds another animal to the zoo!
Another version of this class adds word problems solved with multiplication and division and can be used...Students will learn to identify cue words in word problems for adding and subtracting and develop strategies for solving word problems.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students should know how to add and subtract.
