Your student will have a monster of a good time at this Halloween party. The party will start with a Halloween theme game. Then learners will be treated to a storytime of Beast Feast by Emma Yarlett - a monster story with just the right amount of scare and humor. After that, learners will make a monster craft and wrap up the party with a final game. Halloween costumes are encouraged. Participants will need to print the attached files for the games and have some basic craft supplies to include a large paper plate, markers or crayons, glue stick, scissors, various sizes of googly eyes, and bingo-type markers (pennies, buttons, etc.) for game play.
Learning Goals
Learners will listen to stories for enjoyment. They will describe characters, places, things, and events from the story. They will retell parts of the story in their own words. They will speak to express their thoughts, ideas, and feelings. They will follow directions during game and/or craft time. They will practice fine motor skills through the craft project. Most important, learners will have fun in this Halloween theme story and game time. Supports Common Core State Standards: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.K.1 – K.10, SL.1.1 – 1.10, SL.2.1-2.10.
