Class Experience
This group is dedicated to reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Unit is a Common Core Standard aligned novel study to be used with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling. This unit is perfectly designed to help your students enjoy reading this second excerpt from the Harry Potter series. It includes vocabulary lists, vocabulary activities, in-class discussion, study guides, quizzes, and activities for each major section in the book. It is required that your student...
Students will learn to use an interdisciplinary approach to literature in order to develop the various skills necessary for successful learning, to engage students in their learning using a popular literature series, to encourage intrinsic responsibility for each student’s personal education by providing opportunities for independent choice and assignments.
Throughout the course, students will have a study guide and vocabulary guide to do as homework for each class and will be graded. We will also be studying spells that we read about in the book that are from the Standard Book of Spells book.
Kahoot (app or website will do) Other supplies will be introduced as we move through the course.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed on daily homework, participation, and a final assessment.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
