In this week-long camp, learners will explore their favourite super powers through art and games, and star in a play as their own original super hero!

Class experience

Campers will develop their confidence and self-esteem. They will also strengthen their drama performance skills.
I am an experienced teacher, children's playwright and youth theatre director who is passionate about developing children's creativity and confidence through creative experiences.
Homework Offered
It may be useful for campers to spend some time rehearsing their scripts outside of camp.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Each camper will be awarded a certificate to recognize their super strengths at the end of camp.
Grades Offered
An original script will be written based on learner suggestions and shared before the second day of camp begins. Campers will be invited to use props and costumes from around their house in their performance. They will also need the following:

- approximately four tablespoons of baking soda, water, two small cups, a stack of blank white paper, two paintbrushes, a sponge, paper towel, approximately four tablespoons of grape juice or cranberry juice, a white crayon (must be white), watercolor paints in a few colours, a pencil, a pair of scissors, a roll of scotch tape (or other transparent tape), eight straws, a measuring tape, a set of markers, a paper towel roll, construction paper in a few different colours, a glue stick, string, a one hole puncher, a coffee filter, approximately five pipe cleaners, a clothespin, approximately ten popsicle sticks, a button, a small bottle of white glue, two small wooden beads, approximately five pom poms, a stack of heavy books, two sheets of card stock paper in any colour, two cups of cornstarch, measuring spoons, measuring cups, a bowl, two paper plates, and ribbon.
Parents and guardians may wish to supervise craft and science activities to ensure proper use of supplies and that mess is kept to a minimum. They may also wish to supervise the use of scissors. Campers may optionally use low temperature hot glue guns and this should be supervised by parents to ensure safety.
An original play will be created specifically for this camp. It will be shared through the classroom before the second day of camp begins.
