Class Experience

This course is the start of a series that I created for after Let's Start Speaking Italian 1-8. However, your student can take this even if they are a beginner in Italian as any information from the other classes that are necessary to understand this material will be looked at.

Week 1: Learn how to say this (questo/ questa) and that (quello/quella) and when to use them

Week 2 : Learn the future tense (futuro) and how to conjugate regular -are, -ere, and -ire verbs for the future tense

Week 3: Learn some irregular verbs in the future tense (dare, fare, stare; essere, bere, venire, volere)

Week 4: Learn some irregular verbs in the future tense (verbs ending in -care, -gare, -ciare, and -giare)

Week 5: Learn some irregular verbs in the future tense (andare, avere, cadere, dovere, potere, sapere, vedere, vivere)

Week 6-7: We will learn some of the lyrics to/ sing part of Ed Sheeran's song Perfect Symphony ft. Andrea Bocelli. We will watch, read, and sing the lyrics from YouTube, and students will be suggested to practice it through iTunes and YouTube which has lyrics.

Each week, as long as time permits, we will also do mini-conversation skills.

*Each time, we will review the information from the last lesson.
*Students will be given a PDF, etc. (Homework is optional which includes reviewing what we learned.)

*Subject to change.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is to help students get excited and feel confident in speaking some Italian through learning some key grammar and verb skills (We will go over the futuro verb tense, how to say "this" and "that," & Ed Sheeran's song Perfect ft. Andrea Bocelli) in order to get them interested in foreign languages for college or feeling more confident in upper Italian for those learning the language for fun, traveling to Italy, or living in Italy.

Parental Guidance
We will use YouTube to listen to the song and read the lyrics in Italian. It will be suggested that the students practice this song on YouTube or on iTunes as both of those two channels have the lyrics in Italian. (However, iTunes is optional). Printables of information learned will either be attached in the Outschool classroom or be given through a Google Drive link of which no Google account is required but you or your students may want to use the link to print off material to review or bring to class. The song "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran ft. Andrea Bocelli is about romance (how the woman looks perfect to him and that he's found the woman he wants to marry and have kids with). Doing this song sung by a popular British and Italian artist will give confidence to students to not just read Italian and memorize grammar but to become comfortable in speaking the language such as through a song which they can remember the tune and have fun with.
Supply List
Printer will be needed if you desire to print off the pdf of what we learn in each class.

I believe that taking foreign language classes opens the doors to many opportunities. In high school, I took Spanish, and at university, I learned up to the Intermediate level in Italian. I now give students the opportunity to learn the Italian language by making it fun and engaging through my teaching style, print-offs, and Quizlets games. I have been teaching basic through intermediate Italian courses since 2019 involving basic conversation skills, grammar (present indicative, passato prossimo, conjugating verbs with pronouns, adjectives reflecting the correct the-- as there are 7 the's in Italian, and more), as well as vocabulary and fairytale reading classes to make the language to come to life in a fun way. I've taught over 900 students.
