Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, my name is Christian Villi and I teach Italian and coach College, Traveling and Outschool Soccer. I am an Italian native speaker as I was born and raised in Italy, in Forlì, a town in the Emilia-Romagna region. I’m also fluent in English and Spanish. I love to travel and learn languages and I've had the opportunity to live and work in several countries including the US, Mexico, France, Egypt and The Bahamas. My favorite sport is soccer, I've been playing all my life and started coaching when I was just sixteen in my hometown in Italy. My passion for coaching happened by chance, when I took my little brother to his first ever game of soccer; he scored five goals and his coach was so impressed that he offered me a job to assist him. It was then that I discovered I had a talent for teaching. Because of this experience, later on I decided to start a career in sports and opened a soccer academy in The Bahamas. It was very successful and soon after I was offered a P.E.and swimming teaching job in an international school (Tambearly International School) where I taught children from preschool to 10th Grade. I also offered a variety of extra-curricular activities such as archery, volleyball and Italian private lessons. I also helped the national soccer association (BFA) in developing beach soccer and my career highlight was to coach the men's national beach soccer team of The Bahamas in two FIFA world cup qualifiers. I now live in the US with my wife and two sons, where I continue to teach Italian and coach soccer at Columbia College in SC and at Lexington Soccer Academy.
