Students will gain a basic understanding of the Italian language and culture.
The teacher is a native Italian speaker specializing in the Sicilian dialect as well as the formal Italian language spoken throughout Italy. She has also owned Italian restaurants. All this experience will be used to enrich the children's learning.

Students may need parental assistance with gathering supplies and navigating the zoom functions. At times, they will have the option to use a filter or draw on the screen if they would like. Children may need supervision with some of the projects including the use of a stove, oven, knives, or other tools needed while cooking and scissors used for cutting. You are welcome to substitute ingredients as needed for possible allergens such as flour and tomato sauce. Please reach out if you have any questions about the ingredients, tools, or potential hazards.
The teacher will use experience from living in Sicily, Italy, and being a native Italian speaker. We will also use Nearpod. Students do not need an account. They will be watching videos through teacher screen-share (5-10 minutes per class).
